My son is obsessed with anything with robots. I asked him what kind of scarf he wanted, you guessed it, ROBOTS! I'm still a fairly new knitter, but am all for trying something new. The technique I needed to learn to complete this scarf was double knitting with 2 colors. He chose blue and orange which definitely makes the robots pop on each side. It took me awhile to get the hang of double knitting and there is definitely some mistakes, but my son doesn't seem to notice. He can't wait to use his new robot scarf this winter.

School Bus Painting
I was commissioned to make a set of 3 paintings for a little boy's room. They liked my firetruck and backhoe painting, but wanted to add one more vehicle to the group. We went with a yellow school bus. I think it turned out pretty great! I've listed it on Etsy for future orders and have already found it on a couple treasury lists. How cool!
Here is what all 3 look like together.
Batman Logo Painting
In addition to making a Batman crib mobile for my friend I also included a coordinating painting with the Batman logo and her son's name.

Batman Crib Mobile
I just recently made a crib mobile for a sweet friend who is expecting a baby boy. She was looking for something very specific, Batman. I looked for some examples on Etsy and was able to make something similar as a gift for my friend. Please, ignore the loose ribbons hanging. I wanted to leave her some length so she could adjust how low or high she wanted to hang the Batman logos.
I even tried my hand at felting some beads to add to the mobile.

Cast Art
Never thought I'd be painting on a cast, but since my son broke his arm I gave it try. The first cast I painted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle on his arm.
The second cast I tested my skills and painted Batman. He wanted me to position it closer on the inside of his arm so he could look at it. He was so excited to have a cast that had his favorite characters.

Rocket Painting
Another painting for a sweet boy's room that I did awhile ago, but haven't posted. I did one for his older brother that was an airplane and train. I thought a rocket would be a great addition to their room.

Under the Sea Painting
I was asked to make a custom painting for a nursery via my Etsy page. I matched the nursery bedding called CoCaLo Turtle Reef. It has turtles and fish on the baby quilt. It turned out really cute and I hope the recipients are happy.

Prince Charming
We made our first trip to Disney World this last week and I made this cute prince charming shirt for my little guy. We were having dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Stepsisters and the Fairy Godmother. Prince Charming really liked his shirt and came to talk to us for a little while. Then Cinderella came over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. It was adorable.
For this project I used a white t-shirt. I wanted it to be comfortable for him. I added navy knit on the shoulders and trimmed it out with gold fringe. I sewed gold buttons down the front and then sewed grosgrain ribbon on for the belt.

Boy Set of Stencils
I just put together a boy set of stencils to use for painting onesies. They turned out pretty cute and have been put in my Etsy shop. The packet of stencils includes a plane, train, dinosaur, pirate ship, basketball, football, guitar and tractor. Now I'm working on putting together a gender neutral set.
Then I'm going to make some stencils to do some shirts for the kids for Disney World. It will be our first trip and I'd really like to make each of them a Mickey shirt before we go. I might just have to make one for myself.

Firetruck Painting
I've been doing a few new paintings for my Etsy shop and listed a painting of a Firetruck on a 8x10 canvas. Of course my little guy wants it for his room. I told him I'd paint him another one.

Squirrel Painting
The squirrel painting is the last of my little woodland creatures. I was amazed at how fast this painting came together. This one is my favorite.
Here they all are together.

Meadowlark Painting
Another painting complete, a meadowlark. I'm not sure why I thought this would be easy to paint. It turned out to be more difficult than the other two woodland creatures I painted.

Bobby's Bathers
I recently made some shorts for my son out of the Sewing for Boys book. The pattern, Bobby's Bathers is actually for swim trunks, but can be used as a shorts pattern too. I had this cute little seersucker hat for him and wanted to make him some shorts that would match. So cute and so simple. Literally there are 4 pieces to work with (2 leg pieces and 2 pieces for a pocket). I'm planning on making a few more for the summer time. This kid goes through clothes quickly. He's a dirt magnet. Just last week he laid down in a mud puddle in the grass and started to make snow angel movements. I had to drag him out of there kicking and screaming. Now that I'm thinking about it, I probably should make several pairs of these shorts.

Upcoming Project
This weekend we were playing catch up around our house in the way of home repairs. After having our foundation done we have to go through each room and patch the cracks and paint the room. We finally started this long process this weekend. The first room to get the overhaul is our guest room. I've now decided to change into my son's room. So, of course I've been looking for inspiration and pinning it on pinterest. So, I'm thinking an orange, gray, and a pop of blue color scheme.
I've also decided that airplanes will be be our theme. I thought this wall art was too cute.
Here is a cute airplane quilt. My mom is planning on making a quilt for his bed. She made a fairy quilt for my daughter's bed. I need to post a picture of it. It's really cute!
Airplane propeller hanging rack. What a cute idea. I think I could make something similar for his room.

I thought these fabrics were cute too with the airplanes and helicopters.
More inspirational artwork for the room.

Tie Bib
I saw different versions of the Tie Bib on pinterest and wanted to make one for a friend who is pregnant. Indietutes has a good tutorial on the tie bib and if you want to make one you can check out the tutorial here.
What was great about this project is that I had all the material on hand and didn't have to make a trip to the fabric store and could use up some of my leftover fabrics. I chose to use knit for the bib and the tie is made out of a material with some stretch to it too. It was a quick project and makes a great gift for baby boys.

Toddler Bed
Well, my little boy is no longer a baby and has officially proved that he can not be contained in a crib. Here is proof that my child is a little monkey and can climb his way out or in anything.
See how easy that was, now watch me get back in the crib.
Once we witnessed this we got to work on making a toddler bed. My husband did most of the work on the toddler bed and we made it to look like the Nume bed that I posted about before. It turned out fantastic and Oakley loves it! He climbs through at the opening on the end and curls up in it.
His sister thought she should try it out too. Look mom, we both fit.
We sized the bed to fit his crib mattress which worked out perfectly. I think it is going to work great for him. Okay, now I think he's telling us he wants us to leave so he can go to sleep. Good night!

It's a bird, it's a plane...
It's Super Kid! I've been wanting to make a superhero cape and there was a birthday coming up, so I made one for a little boy celebrating his 2nd birthday. I found a fantastic superhero tutorial over at The Long Thread that I used. Definitely head over there and check it out if you want to make a cape. I think I'm going to have to make another one for my little guy. It's just too cute!
My daughter decided maybe she should give the superhero cape a try.

Circus Painting
I have a little nephew on the way and they are decorating his room with a circus theme. How cute! I'll have to get pictures of the room when it is all done and show you all. They asked me to do a painting for his room and it really turned out cute.
Here's a close up of the seal in the corner.
