It's a bird, it's a plane...

It's Super Kid!  I've been wanting to make a superhero cape and there was a birthday coming up, so I made one for a little boy celebrating his 2nd birthday.  I found a fantastic superhero tutorial over at The Long Thread that I used. Definitely head over there and check it out if you want to make a cape.  I think I'm going to have to make another one for my little guy. It's just too cute!

My daughter decided maybe she should give the superhero cape a try.

  2. Oh my gosh! My friend Sonya and I get together once a month to sew and this cape from this blog is our project next week! Too funny! And I think I might do a superman E on like I did for Ethan's onesie last year. (What kind of fabric did you use?)

  3. Oh, and any tips or tricks different from the pattern?

  4. That's funny that you guys are making the cape next week. I used a cotton broadcloth just because I thought it would be easy to wash. I was thinking of using one of the costume satin's, but I was afraid it would snag too easily. The only thing I did different from the pattern is I used a double fold bias tape around the edges, It just gives it a little more pop.
