Shirt Dress
This project came about because my daughter literally has Hello Kitty radar. The child can see it from a mile away in a store. We were shopping for a new Hello Kitty shirt in the toddler section, but she already had that shirt and they didn't have any others. Her radar kicked in and she looked over at the girls section and saw two other Hello Kitty shirts. Her Mimi and I explained that they were too big for her and they would end up being a dress on her. She didn't seem to mind that at all. We thought about it and decided all it needed was a little ruffle and it would be a cute dress. It took no time at all to add a little ruffle to the bottom. What was once a shirt that was way too big became a darling dress.

Birthday Thank You Notes
My daughter's birthday was a success. She had a wonderful time and so did all her friends. To wrap up the celebration I made thank you notes inspired by..... you guessed it, Hello Kitty. I used my favorite tool, the cricut. I used it to cut out the Hello Kitty outline and the word, Thanks. My daughter helped me by signing her name to the cards after I wrote the note.

Hello Kitty Cupcakes
My daughter had her 4th birthday this past weekend and I made cupcakes for the party. Her birthday was themed around Hello Kitty of course. So, I decided to try and make the cupcakes look like Hello Kitty. I had no idea it was so hard to find black jelly beans. A special trip to the candy store was in order to buy the black jelly beans and the small licorice whips. I made buttercream frosting and then cut the licorice up into small pieces to make ears and whiskers. The black jelly beans were for the eyes and the nose is a mini M&M. The bow is made of the gel decorating frosting that is sold at the grocery store. They turned out pretty cute.
The birthday girl approved.

Birthday Invites
My daughter's 4th birthday is coming up and I sent out invitations to her party a few days ago. Since her obsession is Hello Kitty we are using her as our theme. She was very specific that the girls needed a pink invitation and the boys needed a blue invitation. I love how every year she has a different theme and she has already decided the theme for next year, Strawberry Shortcake. Last year was Dora and the year before was Nemo. In the upcoming weeks I will be working on coming up with Hello Kitty party decorations, favors, cupcakes and thank you notes.
All the credit goes to Aymee at Southern Belle for the cute Hello Kitty svg that I used for the invitations.

Hello Kitty
My daughter loves Hello Kitty or I should say absolutely obsessed with Hello Kitty. Anytime she sees anything Hello Kitty she has to have it. She is only 3 and half. We have Hello Kitty everything....backpack, lip gloss, hair bows, coloring books, purses, shirts. I think she's up to 7 outfits that are Hello Kitty. For Easter I decided that I would knit her a Hello Kitty to put in her Easter basket. She was beyond thrilled and has been carrying it around ever since. Here is the free pattern that I found to make a Hello Kitty look alike. I added the flower to her since Hello Kitty always has a bow or flower on her head.
