I love all the creative Valentines out there. This year I am trying to avoid giving away candy with the Valentines for both my kids' class. I randomly picked up some fish stickers that I wanted to add to the Valentine. It was a little more difficult to incorporate a strip of stickers with the Valentine, but I figured out a way to thread the stickers through the cutout in the fish. I found the cute saying via Jasey's Crazy Daisy. It works perfectly!

Barbie Thank You Notes
I finally got around to writing thank you notes to my family for my daughter's birthday presents. We couldn't stray from the Barbie theme, so I used the Cricut to cut a silhouette of Barbie. Not a fancy card, but it was quick and exactly what she wanted. You can find the Barbie svg at the Mardenz blog.

Koozie Screen Printing
We are back from our wonderful vacation. I must say it was nice and relaxing. There's nothing like spending the week at the beach. I actually did complete a project while I was there. As a favor to my sister, who knows I wouldn't do this for just anyone, I helped her screen print 20 koozies for an upcoming bachelorette weekend.
I put my Cricut to use for this one since it was a bunch of lettering. I used freezer paper on the cricut with the shiny side up so it would stick. Just remember when you do this, you need to mirror the lettering. That way when you iron it on to the material, it reads the right way. I also learned that freezer paper will stick on a neoprene. I had my doubts at first, but I just needed to heat the iron up more before it would stick. It worked out great. I do recommend cutting out multiple copies of freezer paper for the stencils. I only had two copies and they were getting gummed up with paint. Thankfully, they held out till the end and we were able to finish all twenty koozies. It turned out to be a cute project and I hope the bachelorette party likes them.

Elmo Thank You Card
I've been meaning to post the thank you cards I made a few weeks back. I can't tell you how much I love my Cricut. You can really do some cool things with it. My son had an Elmo birthday party I wanted to use Elmo for the thank you cards. I use the Sure Cuts A Lot program with my Cricut and it gives me the ability to cut out anything I want. Then I found this great blog that has a wonderful library of svg's. This is where I downloaded the Elmo for my card.

Tags for School Bags
My daughter is headed back to school in a week. Hurray! Oh wait, did I just say that out loud. In preparation for her to go back to school I made some tags for her backpack and lunchbox. I bought some self laminating luggage tags at the office supply store and got to work making the tags. I cut scrapbook paper to a little smaller than the laminating tag to have an edge that it could stick to itself. I then cut her name out on the cricut and glued it on to the paper. The last step was to insert it in the laminating tag. A very easy project and it looks so nice when it is finished .

Baptism Thank You Notes
As you know I make most of my cards. I'm not sure if I'm crazy for making them because I know you can just buy a package of them at the store. This card in particular gave me the most trouble that I almost gave up and was tempted to just buy a package of cards. My problem was the cross that I had designed to be cut out by my cricut. For some reason everything about it was giving me problems, but I finally figured it out. Here is the cross that I finally got the cricut to cut.

Wine Journal
I made a wine journal for my brother and future sister in-law for an upcoming wedding shower. They lived in Italy for a year and became more interested in wine and I thought this would be the perfect gift. The journal is made with an 8" x 8" fabric scrapbook. The stencils for the lettering were made with my cricut using various fonts.
I used white acrylic paint to stencil the lettering on the book.
On the inside of the book I put together pages that they could fill in the information about the wine. The bottom of the page is left open for the label. I hope they enjoy their new wine journal.

Birthday Thank You Notes
My daughter's birthday was a success. She had a wonderful time and so did all her friends. To wrap up the celebration I made thank you notes inspired by..... you guessed it, Hello Kitty. I used my favorite tool, the cricut. I used it to cut out the Hello Kitty outline and the word, Thanks. My daughter helped me by signing her name to the cards after I wrote the note.

Birthday Party Centerpiece
Usually I'm a little more prepared when it comes to planning a party. Unfortunately, for my daughter's birthday I wasn't as prepared. I had all these ideas of things I wanted to make, but ran out of time. I guess this is what happens when you catch a cold and don't get enough sleep because you have a 5 month old that wakes up in the middle of the night. I did manage to throw together some pretty simple centerpieces the night before the party. Ahhh, I just love the cricut.

Thank You Notes
I've been writing thank you notes as long as I can remember. My parents always stressed the importance of thanking people by a handwritten note. It really is a simple gesture that lets people know that you appreciate them. I love to make my own cards when I have the time. Here is one of my latest cards that I am sending out thanking a friend for a baby gift she sent me. I just love using my Cricut it really does some fun things. With this card I used the Sure Cuts A Lot program by Craft Edge. It works in conjunction with the Cricut and allows for you to come up with your own designs instead of needing a cartridge.
