Velvet

It's been a while since I've posted something for "Fabulous Furniture Friday".  I've had lamps on my mind lately since I've been tasked with making some sort of lamp with my daughter's class.  Whew, this is a difficult one.  I think I've figured it out, but that will be a different post.  On to this cool light I've found.  What makes it unique is the beautiful lampshade.  It's called Velvet, but it is actually made from cut leather and felt.  I just love the way it looks.  The company that makes this light is called &'Costa.  You can check out more of their collection here.

Big Bling Necklace Light

You know I'm always on the hunt for something unusual and I definitely think this falls in that category.  Jewelry that will illuminate the space.  The Big Bling Necklace Light is the creation of Penelope Batley.  More of her work can be found here. 

Gladys Chandelier

 

The Gladys Chandelier was designed by Louise Hederstorm.  I really like the way it resembles lace. It is available in stainless and white.  Louise has made various pieces for Ikea as well. To see more of her work, click here.

Lighting by Catellani & Smith

The company, Catellani & Smith has some beautiful modern light fixtures.  The Fil de Fer pictured below is my favorite. 

 

I read that the designer Enzo Catellani was inspired by "the light, rolling bushes, blown by the wind in the Mexican dessert".  I love the chaos of this light fixture.

Striped Tubes

Today I found a designer out of The Netherlands named, Bertjan Pot.  He designed these really cool striped tube lighting for his own house.  I think they are great and love the colors.  To see more of his designs, click here.
